MPTOverview
Magnetic particle testing magnetises the part and applies fine iron particles. Where a crack interrupts the magnetic field, particles gather and show its exact shape and length.
It is quick, sensitive and works through thin coatings, which makes it ideal for carbon-steel welds and castings in the field.
