Co-60 · Ir-192 · X-rayOverview
Radiography lets us see inside a component without cutting it. We use Sentry (Co-60), Sentinel (Co-60) and Delta (Ir-192) gamma projectors and X-ray equipment to record the internal structure of welds, castings and forgings on film, so flaws in pressure vessels and valves are found before the part goes into service.
Exposures are carried out in our AERB-approved enclosures at Vellore or on site at your plant, by BARC-certified radiographers. Every film is interpreted by qualified Level II and Level III personnel and reported against the acceptance code you specify.
What it finds
- Porosity and gas pockets
- Slag and tungsten inclusions
- Lack of fusion and incomplete penetration
- Internal cracks and shrinkage in castings
- Wall loss and blockages in piping
- Misalignment and burn-through
Where we use it
- Pressure vessel and boiler welds
- Steel and alloy castings, valves and pump bodies
- Cross-country pipelines and plant piping
- Spherical vessels, mounded bullets and storage tanks
